The clavichord of mighty dynamics is a more powerful version of the adventurer’s clavichord. It has all the powers of its lesser cousin, and the following besides.

The sound of the clavichord of mighty dynamics is further amplified and enhanced. The lesser clavichord of mighty dynamics can match the sound of a grand piano; when it is played, the wispy, insubstantial form of an elegant, ornate piano seems to appear around it, as if the instrument were transformed (though in fact its physical form remains unchanged). The greater clavichord of mighty dynamics rivals any cathedral’s pipe organ; and a similar visual effect accompanies its sound.

This enhanced sound has several effects.

First, a bard who plays the clavichord of mighty dynamics gains a circumstance bonus on countersong attempts (+4 for the lesser version, +6 for the greater; in either case, this supersedes the +2 bonus gained from an ordinary adventurer’s clavichord).

Second, the bard, and all her allies, gain a bonus on Intimidate checks against those all enemies who hear the performance, for as long as the bard plays the instrument and for 3d6 minutes thereafter. This bonus is +2 for the lesser clavichord of mighty dynamics, and +4 for the greater version.

Third, the bard gains a bonus on Perform checks made to impress an audience, as well as on Perform checks made for the fascinate bardic music ability. (This bonus is +2 for the lesser clavichord of mighty dynamics, and +4 for the greater version.)

Fourth, the bard can play the clavichord of mighty dynamics while casting any sonic bard spell (such as sound burst or shout), substituting the performance for the spell’s vocal components. Doing so grants the bard a bonus to her caster level and to the spell’s save DC (+1 for the lesser clavichord of mighty dynamics, +2 for the greater version).

Finally, the clavichord of mighty dynamics is even more durable than an adventurer’s clavichord; its hit points and hardness are as if the instrument were made of iron.
