The False Knight hates chivalry. He’s not a bad person, not really, but he truly loathes chivalry. Maybe he was denied knighthood, or maybe he witnessed one too many knights behaving in ways that make a mockery of their code. Regardless of why he hates chivalry, he makes it his life’s mission to humiliate knights and knightly orders, show people how cruel and craven the knights can be, and generally make himself feel superior to them. While cynical, he does (mostly) genuinely want to do the things knights are known for doing.
He delights in driving an annointed knight to flee in terror, and prefers to brand defeated knightly foes with his arcane mark than to kill them. He often brands both the vanquished knight and the knight’s shield.
He does not wear the traditional heavy armor of a knight, but he does wear a mockery of it; light armor and a false shell that appears, at a casual glance, to be true plate armor. He maintains this to assist magical disguise. Similarly, his shield is a lightweight fake.
