Armor
Dwarven Plate
(HEAVY ARMOR)
In the remote reaches of Muspelheim?, dwarven miners work tirelessly to harvest the ultrahard metal called adamantine, and dwarven smiths forge it into mighty weapons and armor for their warriors. Suits of full plate such as this are worn by soldiers tasked to the defense of the dwarven kingdom’s borders, and are often enchanted with powerful protective magic.

Crystal Dragonscale Armor
(HEAVY ARMOR)
Crafted by master armorsmiths of past generations, these suits of armor are made from the crystalline scales of now-extinct gem dragons. The armor consists of a light mithril mail backing with dragon scales sewn onto it, with the result being similar to steel full plate, though much tougher. Because the semi-organic crystal scales are slightly flexible, and the straps are made of dragon sinew rather than cured leather, crystal dragonscale armor also affords more mobility than full plate.
Suits of this armor are always considered masterwork; they are generally fashioned to give the wearer a draconic appearance, with the helmet being sculpted out of crystal plates from the dragon’s head. Crystal dragonscale armor originates in Cherkessia, the Mongol? lands, and the eastern Russian principalities—those parts of the known world where gem dragons once resided—and is sometimes worn by heroes and champions of those lands.
Armor Bonus +12; Max Dex +2; ACP −5; Arcane Spell Failure 25%; Speed 20 feet; Weight 50 lb.; Price 12,700 gp.
Drakescale Armor
(MEDIUM ARMOR)
While the broad, thick outer scales of adult dragons are often used to create plate-like armor, some armorsmiths have perfected the technique of crafting the smaller, thinner, more flexible inner scales of younger dragons into something similar to lamellar armor. The scales are sewn to a backing of dragonhide, creating a coat that covers the upper body, arms and upper legs, and usually includes a helmet. Drakescale armor has an extra benefit; it grants the wearer resistance 5 to the energy type of the breath weapon of whatever dragon’s scales the armor was made from.
Armor Bonus +6; Max Dex +3; ACP −4; Arcane Spell Failure 25%; Speed 20 feet; Weight 30 lb.; Price 7,300 gp.
Solanian Truesteel Battlesuit
(MEDIUM ARMOR)
Mined on the fourth layer of the Seven Mounting Heavens of Celestia?, this fine iron needs no alloy and shines with a silvery gleam. Celestial armorsmiths forge Solanian truesteel into suits of armor commonly worn by archon warriors and mortal crusaders alike. Over the centuries, as champions of the heavens have fallen in battle, some of these battlesuits have made their way onto black markets, both in Midgard and the Lower Realms, and it is now possible to find one in most common body shapes. As the metal is lighter, thinner, and less brittle than ordinary metals, a truesteel battlesuit is shaped to be much more form-fitting than a suit of steel full plate, granting almost equal protection while weighing quite a bit less.
Even the leather doublet that comes with such a battlesuit is lined with an ultra-thin layer of truesteel, providing unparalled protection of the wearer’s vital organs. A Solanian truesteel battlesuit grants the wearer a +4 bonus to AC against critical strike confirmation rolls, which stacks with all other bonuses to armor class.
Armor Bonus +7; Max Dex +3; ACP −4; Arcane Spell Failure 30%; Speed 30 feet; Weight 30 lb.; Price 5,600 gp.
