An ocean giant?. A seasoned warrior, who, along with Glaucos, Phaedra, Thalia, Rhodoss, and Ammon, fought against the PCs in the gladiatorial arena in the nereid? city of Atlantis?, for the entertainment of Matriarch Amphitrite.

According to comments made by the arena announcer when introducing Bes, the giant had fought against humans in the past. The PCs' historical knowledge suggests that, most likely, Bes was among those denizens of the deeps summoned forth by Aros? to battle the Teutonic Knights? for Prince Alexander Nevsky of Novgorod.

Appearance

Bes is powerfully built, even for one of his kind, bearded, boisterous, and fearless in battle. Like most ocean giant? warriors, he wears gleaming golden scale armor that can reflect magical attacks. Bes wields a wickedly spiked morningstar that deals cold damage with each strike, and a massive round shield.

Capabilities

Bes is tougher and more capable in combat, and has much more powerful spell-like abilities, than an average ocean giant?.
