Main» Ruslan, Arsen, Samira

These three adventurers have risen to prominence in the last couple of years, and though they have only tenuous ties to the formal power structures of Cherkess society, their involvement in important events has gained them recognition and respect in their homeland.

Arsen is a ranger and master archer, and a sworn protector of the land, charged by the gods and the ancestors to safeguard the forests and mountains of Cherkessia, and the creatures who dwell there, from harm. He has a family, a wife and children, whom he sees little, as his mission has taken him far from home of late; since meeting Anton Saratov,? Arsen has traveled far and wide, combating threats to Cherkessia both human and supernatural.

Arsen's younger brother Ruslan is a warrior, little concerned with matters of politics, power, or cosmic philosophies. His aim is perfection of his fighting skill; he seeks challenges to test himself against, to live up to the legacy of his heroic ancestors. He is also fiercely protective of Samira, and will generally follow wherever she leads.

Samira is Ruslan's companion, and a sorceress of the Cherkess court. Though she is quite talented, and well-liked at the Ivory Citadel — including by the king himself — Samira has less patience than many of her peers for the mundanities and politics of the court, preferring to put her skills to use in adventuring. Samira combines a kind and compassionate personality, an idealistic outlook, and a genuine joy in the use of her arcane talent in battle, usually in the flashiest and most overt ways she can muster.

Ruslan, Arsen, and Samira are often seen in the company of their Russian friends and allies — the sun-priest Anton Saratov, and his daughter Oksana?. These five have, at various times, appeared as both allies and antagonists of the player characters (more the former than the latter, of late). Most recently, Ruslan and Samira fought alongside Siegfried Schtauffen during the attempt on the famous hero's life by members of the Cult of the Fallen Trickster.

(In the timeline of the dystopian future which the player characters visited, Ruslan, Arsen, and Samira, along with the Saratovs, were the first victims of the primordial frost giant Ymir, after the latter's awakening. According to Anait?, their souls were also destroyed, leaving no possibility of resurrection.)
