Main» Zmei Gromovoi’s Journal

The journal of the legendary Zmei Gromovoi is written in enchanted ink. The ink only becomes visible when fresh dragon blood is dripped on the page, and the page is subject to fire and storm (any fire spell and any electricity spell). The text is written in a combination of Draconic and Norse. It is composed of highly esoteric and abstruse terminology, and seems to have almost a poetic structure to it. You get the feeling, from the structure of the sentences, that much of the meaning here is hidden within subtle puns, plays on words, idiomatic expressions, and Draconic jargon having to do with the art of magic.

On the surface, however, the book appears to be a travel journal. Beyond that, however, we understand no more details. If the textbook we found in the old church in Stargorod is correct, deciphering the true meaning - the many layers of true meanings - in this text will take quite some effort.

Location

We successfully found the complete Journal on an island in Zmei Gromovoi's lair, surrounded by an underground lake teeming with extradimensional creatures that were capable of possession.

The book itself was protected by a powerful magical trap. Any attempts to remove it from its pedestal caused the entire island to be covered in fire and electricity as per the Fire Storm and Chain Lightning spells. However, the trap was not powerful enough. The journal is now ours.

Pages

Danil & Anastas' Page

The page begins mid-sentence, and ends likewise. It appears to tell of Zmei Gromovoi's adventures while traveling through the Other World, also known in various mythologies as Hades or the Realm of the Dead; there are references to demons, the souls of the departed, and so forth.
