When you finish casting this spell, the powerful elemental forces of the surrounding storm coalesce into rifts to the Paraelemental Plane of Ice. Out of this rift fall 2d4 massive chunks of ice, to the points within range that you designate; each chunk causes an explosion of snow and ice, dealing 4d6 cold damage to anything within a 30-foot radius. Multiple overlapping explosions deal damage independently; separate successful Reflex saves halve this damage. (These are creation effects.)
One round later, each of the chunks of ice rise and animate to become greater ice elementals?. (This is a calling effect.) These elementals obey you explicitly and serve you for 10 minutes. After this time, they melt into slush, their essence returning to their home plane.
Material Component
Eight 1000 gp diamonds, which transform into worthless chunks of coal when the elementals dissolve.
Location
This spell must be cast in a cold climate, during a powerful snowstorm. The DM determines whether proper conditions exist for the spell’s casting.
