With this spell, the caster summons the swarming vermin that inhabit the demon realm of Malbolge? to torment his enemies. When touch of Malbolge is cast, the target’s flesh begins bulging and crawling with insects, just under the skin; the effect is both revolting and terrifying, causing the target to become nauseated for one round. A successful Fortitude save negates the nausea.
One round later, on the caster’s turn, the insects burst forth through the victim’s skin and orifices, dealing 1d6 points of damage per two levels (maximum 5d6). They immediately coalesce into a wasp swarm (Fiend Folio, p.172), with the swarm’s space overlapping that of the target, and attack him as well as any other creatures in the swarm's space. The swarm’s special attacks use the saving throw DC of touch of Malbolge rather than their own DCs. The swarm is under the command of the caster, and lasts for 1 round per level before dispersing.
