Flaming

(1 point / 2 points for burst)

A flaming weapon is sheathed in fire. The fire does not harm the wielder. The effect remains until another command is given. A flaming weapon deals an extra 1d6 points of fire damage on a successful hit. Bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the fire energy upon their ammunition.

A flaming weapon sheds light as a torch when it is aflame.

Some flaming weapons burst into flame on command, with another command quenching the flames; others flame as soon as they are drawn (or an arrow nocked, etc.), and extinguish themselves when sheathed.

Flaming Burst: A flaming burst weapon functions as a flaming weapon that also explodes with flame upon striking a successful critical hit. In addition to the extra fire damage from the flaming ability (see above), a flaming burst weapon deals an extra 1d10 points of fire damage on a successful critical hit. If the weapon’s critical multiplier is ×3, add an extra 2d10 points of fire damage instead, and if the multiplier is ×4, add an extra 3d10 points of fire damage.

Even if the flaming ability is not active, a flaming burst weapon still deals its extra fire damage on a successful critical hit. Flaming burst weapons deal their additional damage even if the target is immune to critical hits, such as an elemental, a construct, or an object (i.e., the extra fire damage is not precision damage).
